What we do

Development through decades of operation

Solvane handles every stage of a utility-scale solar asset's life, so utilities and landowners work with one accountable partner instead of a chain of subcontractors.

  • Site development

Land acquisition, interconnection studies, and permitting for utility-scale solar and storage sites.

  • Project financing

Structuring tax equity, debt, and power purchase agreements to bring projects to financial close.

  • EPC management

Overseeing engineering, procurement, and construction from groundbreaking through commercial operation.

  • Battery storage integration

Co-located storage systems designed to firm output and capture peak pricing for asset owners.

  • Asset management

Long-term operations and maintenance across our fleet, with performance guarantees backed by our own balance sheet.

  • Grid interconnection

In-house interconnection engineering to navigate utility queues faster than most independent developers.

Project portfolio

A few projects we've developed and still operate

We hold long-term ownership stakes in most of what we build, which is part of why our fleet-wide uptime stays above 99%.

  • Rural electric cooperative

    Sagebrush Electric Cooperative

Developed and financed a 180 MW solar facility on reclaimed agricultural land, delivering power to a six-county rural cooperative at a fixed rate below regional wholesale averages.

180 MWof solar capacity contracted under a 25-year PPA

  • Investor-owned utility

    Two Rivers Power & Light

In-house interconnection engineering moved a 220 MW project through queue studies in under fourteen months, versus a regional average of roughly three years.

About Solvane

Built by people who wanted to own what they built

Solvane was founded in 2014 by a team of project finance and engineering veterans who were frustrated watching developers flip projects immediately after construction. We hold long-term equity in most of our fleet, which keeps our incentives tied to decades of performance rather than a successful sale.

We own what we build
Long-term equity stakes mean our reputation depends on decade-plus performance, not a flip.
Regional focus
We work exclusively in the western U.S., where our interconnection and permitting expertise runs deep.
In-house engineering
Interconnection and EPC oversight stay in-house rather than fully outsourced to third parties.
Community-first siting
Every project includes direct landowner and county engagement before permitting begins.

What our partners say

  • “Solvane's interconnection team knew our queue process better than our own staff. That expertise alone cut nearly two years off our timeline.”

    Colin Marsh

VP of Generation, Two Rivers Power & Light

  • “Because they keep equity in the project, every conversation about long-term performance feels like it's with a partner rather than a contractor.”

    Deborah Yellowhorse

    General Manager, Sagebrush Electric Cooperative

  • “We've financed a dozen solar developers. Solvane is the only one whose actual production numbers matched their financial model within two percent.”

    Patricia Nguyen

    Managing Director, Palisade Infrastructure Fund

Notes on utility-scale solar

  • Development

Why interconnection queues are the real bottleneck in solar

Permitting gets the headlines, but queue position and study timelines decide most project schedules.

  • Storage

What co-located storage adds to a solar project's returns

A breakdown of how battery storage shifts a project's revenue profile beyond the power purchase agreement.

  • Strategy

Why we still own most of what we develop

Frequently asked questions

We typically develop utility-scale projects between 50 and 300 megawatts, with select storage-only projects starting at 20 MWh.
